The park is located 24.2 km (15.1 miles) from the center of Gramado, in one of the most spectacular sceneries of the Serra Gaucha, amid araucarias, birds, wild animals. The park also houses some shopping and dining options.

Located 9.6 km (6 miles) from Gramado, the Canela Cathedral was built in English Gothic style, has a 65-meter high tower, and was inaugurated in 1932.
